For sale is a 59cm (XL) Raleigh Rush Hour, 2007 model. This is the second year Raleigh made the Rush Hour. I am 6'3.5” and I like riding this - however, I recommend you bring your own saddle.
I've made several upgrades.
Specs are as follows (* marks an upgrade):
| Part | Description |
|---|---|
| Frame | TIG-welded, Reynolds 525 Butted Chromoly |
| Fork | Straight blade chromoly |
| Fenders | Planet Bike Cascadia 700c Road Fenders |
| Brakes | Tektro dual pivot caliper |
| Brake levers | Shimano BL-R550 flat bar road levers* (I love these levers) |
| Crankset | TruVativ Touro Track, 48 teeth |
| Pedals | Dimension mountain - Crank Brothers egg beater clipless pedals extra |
| Bottom Bracket | Miche* (I don't remember which model or group) |
| Chain | SRAM 3/16” with PowerLink* |
| Seatpost | RaceFace with double-adjusting saddle clamp (makes it easier to adjust saddle pitch and position)* RaceFace Ride XC post 27.2 x 350 mm Black |
| Saddle | Forté Pro SLX* (again, I recommend you bring your own saddle to this whip) |
| Handlebar | Stock drop bars (but pictures show riser bar setup - no longer available) |
| Headset | 1 1/8” threadless Aheadset |
| Stem | Dimension 25.4 90mm 107 degree Black 1-1/8” Threadless Stem* |
| Wheelset | Bicycle Wheel Warehouse |
| Rim | Mavic CXP22 700c, 32 hole, black (The original wheels were horrendous, going out of true every few weeks. Since I bought these wheels in June 2008, they have not needed to be trued)* |
| Hub | Formula sealed bearing high flange track hubs. The rear hub spacing is 120mm and is both fixed or single speed free wheel compatible, black* |
| Spokes | Black stainless steel, 2.0mm* |
| Tires | Panaracer for Messenger, and Continental Ultra GatorSkin* |
I stopped riding the Rush Hour in September 2009 because I believe the bike's size and geometry was aggravating my pre-existing back pain. I have since been riding one of two bikes with a more upright riding position, while also using a pannier to hold my daily cargo. REMOVE
I have the original road drop handlebar and road brake levers (the kind with hoods). I also have bullhorns with both TT and cross levers. You'll have the opportunity to mix and match.
$400 email me steve@stevevance.net. I live in Bridgeport and you can test ride it any evening and any time on the weekend.
